Course Building/ Showing

Courses must have specific aspects.

Here are the jump requirements per level:

H001 - *X Rails* 2-5 X-rails, with 6-10 times jumped throughout the entire course.

H101 - 2-5 jumps, with 6-10 times jumped throughout the entire course.

H201 - 3-6 jumps, with 7-12 times jumped throughout the entire course.

H301 - 4-6 jumps, with 6-17 times jumped throughout the entire course.

H401 - 5-7 jumps, with 11-14 times jumped throughout the entire course.

H501 - 5-7 jumps, with 12-17 times jumped throughout the entire course.

During your course, it is important to see the following aspects:

• enough time spent in each lead, in order to properly see and judge strength of leads.

• more than just straight line jumps. Plenty of turns.

During your course, we like to see:

• a lead change over the jump, and a lead change on the flat.

• a nice, collected canter.

• enough time spent in each lead to properly judge

• lead changes at appropriate times

• smoothness, and a lack of hesitation

The harder your course, the higher score you may earn! (Not guaranteed, it will still depend on performance. A well-done easier test always scores better than a sloppy hard one.)

Hunters Information

*Gait Allowance: H001 classes allow a trot up to the first jump. Any other levels require a slow canter, and speed should not exceed a fast canter.
Rushing the course (i.e., galloping at any part before the jump) may result in a lower score.
Lead changes on the at and over fences are reuired in all levels except H001. Flat hunter rounds may be reuired for some competitions as well.

Video/Technology Requirements

ALL videos shot for HHIEA (ads for live show sessions, competition entries, etc.) must be shot in landscape

mode. Videos submitted that are lmed portrait mode will not be accepted unless previous arrangements were made. Landscape mode is long side down.
Videos should be shot with the back camera, and not front camera, for higher quality. Low-level competitions (H001 - H101, J001, J101, D001 - D002) may be filmed by another person and shaky videos may be accepted as long as they are easy enough to see. However, for any events higher than the levels listed above, we recommend putting your camera on a still surface (a tripod is a perfect tool), or person recording must be able to stay pretty still. Shaky videos will not be accepted. e camera may not be placed on the ground/ at ground level.

For Dressage, the camera must always be on the letter C so the judge sees A on the opposite side.

Submission Methods

Videos may be refused through Instagram chats. For better quality, videos should be transferred using e-mail, Google Drive, or WeTransfer. Always use the email hhieventing@gmail.com for submitting videos. Submitting to YouTube as an unlisted video and private messaging the URL to the official HHIEA page is acceptable as well.
